Tessa West

Prisons Of Promise

This book is my plea for prison to provide a more positive experience for both inmates and staff. Resulting directly from my working in and reflecting on prisons it counteracts images of negativity and challenges people to identify and encourage goodwill, energies and skills.

These might be maximised so as to make prisons safer and more purposeful communities. Happily, progress has certainly made been made since 1997 when I wrote "Prisons of Promise", though improvements always have to be monitored if they are to be maintained.
My Image
I find it both timely and refreshing that Tessa West should have written such a positive and purposeful book.., which I recommend, unreservedly, to anyone who has an interest or involvement in prisons.
