My books are an eclectic mix, though two themes run through or inform most of them: an interest in history, and my connection to land and waterscapes, especially those in East Anglia.

I’ve written four novels (all set in East Anglia but independent of each other), a fiction/non-fiction mix of stories inspired by prisoner-of-war depots, a biography of John Howard (the prison reformer), two collections of poetry, cycling guides and short stories.
